The Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts is giving staff, faculty and students a head start this week on buying single-event tickets — that is, tickets for individual events that you can buy without purchasing a subscription for multiple shows.

Single-event tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday (July 14), but staff, faculty and students can get these tickets now!

Plus, as of this week, there’s more to choose from, with the Mondavi Center’s announcement of three more “just added” shows:

  • In Conversation With Samantha Bee — Comedian, host of TBS television's  Full Frontal and former Daily Show correspondent. 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7.
  • Adventurous Americana With Andrew Bird — Internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler and songwriter who picked up his first violin at the age of 4 and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22.
  • An Evening With David Sedaris — One of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9.

The Mondavi Center previously announced one other “just added” show: The Decemberists, a singing group of “literary scope and musical daring,” 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, for which tickets are already on sale to the public.

The 2017-18 season opener will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21: the Norteño band Los Tigres del Norte from San Jose. The Mondavi Center had another big concert planned the next week, by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, but that event has been canceled.,
