Arts Venues: What is Open and Closed in the Region?

While Coronavirus prevention has caused many arts venues to close, art museums and galleries and some musical events are still going on for now. (This blog will be updated regularly.)

And below: tips and information for the arts community from Davis Arts Alliance.

Some music at 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis goes on, but performances at Mondavi, for example, are canceled. So are upcoming musical performances, for that matter, at Sacramento's (sports events and entertainment happen at the arena, and all are canceled or postponed for now through March 31.) To help navigate this, we have summarized arts openings and closures here. Always check with the event sponsor of venue before going, as conditions are changing rapidly.

Much of the music goes on

The music goes on at 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis with concerts by the concert, jazz and vocal groups through Friday. For those with health concerns you don't have to miss the music 鈥 all will be live streamed . Details and how to get tickets to some of those events Friday are here.

Not all music is still happening in the region, and quotes a 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis faculty member about the financial strain these cancellations will put on musicians. 鈥淏ruce Chrisp, principal trombonist with eight orchestras, and a 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis faculty member, said the concert cancellations he learned of just this past week alone will cost him an anticipated $7,400.鈥

The at 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis, as well as the region鈥檚 in Folsom are both canceling their events through the rest of March.

Museums and Galleries

The Crocker, and remain open. announced Friday morning that it is closing through March 28. The will close to the public from March 14 through Monday, March 30, it was announced.

TANA was set to have an opening Friday night, but it has been canceled.  

Check all venues before going, but most museums and galleries in the region remain open for normal hours. in Woodland canceled its Friday night art opening and lecture, and will reschedule at a later date.

And if you don鈥檛 feel browsing inside a venue, you might check out the public art at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art, which extends outside.

Also, the Art Studio weekend sessions have been canceled through the rest of this month, as well as the March 26 Artist Salon with Elizabeth Corkery.

The Museum encourages all visitors and staff to practice healthy habits, including frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and water, covering coughs with a tissue, and staying home if sick or not feeling well. The California Arts Council is surveying the arts field at-large to gather data on the potential financial impacts of this public health emergency. This is a quickly evolving situation and this data will be an important resource to inform our agency and the state.
