- WITH: The featured author, León Salvatierra; Leticia Hernández-Linares (Mucha Muchacha: Too Much Girl, poetry; and Alejandria Fights Back!/¡La lucha de Alejandria!), who teaches in the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University; and Ernesto M. Garay (Reverberating Voices, poetry), who teaches ethnic studies at San Jose City College and Woodland Community College.

Poetry collection first published in Nicaragua in 2012 and republished in 2022 in a bilingual edition by the University of Nevada Press. Born in Nicaragua, Salvatierra came to the United States when he was 15 and lived undocumented for many years, an experience he addresses in his poetry. He went on to receive a Ph.D. in Hispanic languages and literature from аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Berkeley and an M.F.A. in creative writing from аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis. In addition to being an editor for Huizache, Latino Stories and the New Oeste series at University of Nevada Press, he teaches courses on literature and culture in the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies.
