C.N. Gorman Museum at Nelson Hall

With over 2,500 pieces of contemporary art by Native American and Indigenous artists, the C.N. Gorman Museum will relocate to this larger, more flexible and innovative space complete with over 4,500 square feet of public gallery space. Completion is slated for this summer.

Diane Bryant Engineering Student Design Center

Named for Diane Bryant ’85, CEO of NovaSignal, the new center will accommodate instruction, student-client collaboration, rapid prototyping, machining, welding and more. It’s estimated to be complete in fall 2022.

Edwards Family Athletics Center

This state-of-the-art project for Intercollegiate Athletics includes the development of a 45,000-square-foot facility for sports medicine, training and instruction; a full-size, natural grass practice field; offices for multiple sport and student performance-centered programs; and the renovation of the existing Bob Foster Team Center. Completion date is fall 2022.

Orchard Park Redevelopment Project

The Orchard Park Redevelopment Project will provide 189 two-bedroom units for students with families and 424 studios and four-bedroom apartments for 1,100 graduate students – four times more students than the original development. Completion date is fall 2023.

Howard Way Gateway

The аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis class of 1968 partnered with the university to create a new structure at the intersection of Howard Way and Russell Boulevard on the north side of campus. The 7-foot high, 54-foot-long metal sculpture fabricated from Cor-Ten steel will include a stainless steel university wordmark and seal, and be completed in winter 2022.

Teaching and Learning Complex

Located next to the Silo and capable of serving thousands each period, this new four-story building will be the Davis campus’s first general classroom building in 50 years. It will feature small, medium and large classrooms with cutting-edge teaching technologies, collaborative learning spaces, and sustainability attributes. Completion is slated for this spring.


Arboretum and Public Garden

On the west end of the Arboretum, this indoor-outdoor facility will serve as a public program space, a classroom for visitor and volunteer events, and a program staging area for students in the Arboretum’s environmental leadership program. Completion date is spring 2022.

The two wooden decks at Wyatt Deck are getting makeovers, with a new, accessible space expected by winter 2022.

Waterway improvements

The next phase of the Arboretum Waterway Project is about to resume, with increased stormwater capacity, wetland and riparian habitat, pumps and weirs for water circulation and concrete edges replaced with gently sloped banks of native vegetation.


Veterinary Medical Center

Part of a major fundraising campaign, the new $500 million Veterinary Medical Center will help address the increasing caseload, allow for the adoption of the latest technology and provide infrastructure for research.

This center will feature a variety of services including advanced diagnostic tools, integrative medicine and a teaching pavilion to support educational goals.

All Species Imaging Center

The All Species Imaging Center consists of an approximately 8,000-square-foot addition to the south end of the current Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and includes about 3,000 square feet of renovated space within the hospital. The center will have radiography (X-ray), computed tomography (CT scan), nuclear scintigraphy, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET scan). Completion date is spring 2023.
