Oct. 18, Wednesday -- Biotech executives, investors and аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis researchers will gather at Bio Summit 2006 to discuss the future of the biotech industry and look at innovation and entrepreneurship across the greater Sacramento region. The keynote address will be given by Jane Lebkowski, senior vice president of research for Geron Corp., on how stem cells are being used for therapeutic medicines. Other topics will include investing in the frontiers of human health and biotech research initiatives at аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis. The summit will be held in аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis' Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is organized by TechCoire, a business education and networking organization, and аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis CONNECT, which promotes entrepreneurship and business development in the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis community.
