Brain Scientist Explores the Biology of Spirituality

Feb. 27, Friday -- Andrew B. Newberg, a University of Pennsylvania physician extensively involved in the study of mystical and religious experiences, will address "Why God Won't Go Away: Brain Science and the Biology of Belief." Newberg has also studied issues of aging and dementia, epilepsy, and other neurological and psychiatric disorders by looking at images of the brain. His book "The Mystical Mind: Probing the Biology of Belief" received the 2000 Outstanding Book Award from the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences. The talk, sponsored by the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis Department of Psychology, will take place at 12:10 p.m. in the AGR Room of the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center, аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis.
