Chancellor, Police Chief on Recent Immigration Enforcement Reports

Dear аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis community,

We want you all to be aware of our on immigration enforcement in light of recent that Northern California cities have been targeted for a major federal sweep.

аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis campus police will not conduct sweeps, nor assist in any federal raids or otherwise participate in efforts to detain suspected undocumented members of our university community.

We want you all to be informed of your rights and steps to take in the event U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents come on campus to enforce the law. Please read the  prepared by the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Office of the President.

Note that federal immigration agents with non-criminal warrants are barred from entering restricted areas such as dorm rooms and faculty offices without the occupant’s consent. Areas on campus that are open to the public, however, are also open to federal law enforcers.
