Energy Expert Will Be D.C. Policy Adviser

A аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis transportation expert will serve as an energy policy adviser in the University of California's Washington, D.C., offices for the next six months.

Anthony Eggert, a doctoral student at the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis Institute of Transportation Studies, will be working with the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢'s Washington Center staff on policy related to bioenergy, alternative fuels, climate and innovation.

His goal is to help the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢DC staff connect the expertise of the University of California with the information needs of members of Congress and their staffs through briefings, seminars and workshops.

"The issues and problems relating to energy that our lawmakers are currently addressing will shape our nation's economy and environment for more than a century," Eggert said. "Having worked on these issues for my entire career, I am thrilled to be given a chance to help connect the massive knowledge base of the University of California to those who could make a positive difference in our world."
