Officials with the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis Library and Academic Senate confirmed this afternoon (Jan. 31) that contract negotiations between 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 and journal publisher Elsevier will continue beyond today 鈥 the last day of a one-month contract extension 鈥 and that 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 still has access to Elsevier journals for now.
鈥This access remains in place until an agreement is reached or until further notice,鈥 reads a memo from MacKenzie Smith, university librarian and vice provost of Digital Scholarship; and Dennis J. Ventry, Jr., law professor and vice chair of the Academic Senate鈥檚 University Committee on Library and Scholarly Communication.
Smith and Ventry cited 鈥渃onsiderable progress鈥 in the negotiations in January. This followed months of negotiations for a systemwide contract renewal in advance of the Dec. 31 expiration.
鈥淎s negotiations continue, we may reach a point where Elsevier will limit the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息鈥檚 access to new articles (those with a 2019 publication date),鈥 Smith and Ventry wrote. 鈥淚f this happens, the library will give the campus community as much notice as we can.鈥
