The annual last week generated excitement among kids who got an inside look at unique aspects of campus and pride among parents who were reminded of some of their employer鈥檚 best traits.

鈥淭his is my favorite day of the year, by far,鈥 said Adrianne Bataska, assistant director of events for Global Affairs. Her two kids get to see her office (and rearrange the furniture) in the International Center, and visited the Data Lab, the Diane Bryant Engineering Student Design Center and more.

She added that it makes her proud to work somewhere that hosts an event like this.

鈥淭his always renews my civic pride,鈥 she said.

This year, about 1,250 people registered for the April 25 event through the organizer, Human Resources. Many events are so popular that spaces are assigned through a lottery, and the day鈥檚 activities lend a 鈥渕ini Picnic Day鈥 atmosphere to campus.

Missy Gable 鈥04, 鈥07 MS, director of the Master Gardener Program for 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Agriculture and Natural Resources, which also participates in the campus event, said she is always impressed by the wide range of offerings. Her two kids spent time with the football and gymnastics teams, and saw the Student Farm.

鈥淲e put on such a good show,鈥 she said.

Lindsey Douros, assistant director of volunteer engagement for Development and Alumni Relations, said her kids look forward to the event and ask about it each year. This year one added a new refrain: 鈥淚鈥檓 going to come to 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis when I鈥檓 old enough.鈥

She said the event sends a positive message to employees.

鈥淚t鈥檚 nice to work someplace where they want us to have a good work-life balance with kids.鈥
