Campus officials arranged for Peet鈥檚 coffee and tea products to be part of The Market from its opening day May 1 鈥 with cold brew and nitro cold brew coffee from taps coming soon. The bus has been tipped on its side at the old Orchard Park apartment complex at Russell Boulevard and Highway 113. The apartments are empty and fenced off, due to be torn down this summer to make way for a new apartment complex for students and families.
The training exercises began May 1 and are scheduled to continue today (May 2) and Friday (May 5), from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The drills involve firetrucks, ambulances and a helicopter.
Cybersecurity talks open to all
Keynote speakers have been announced for this year鈥檚 Information Security Symposium, and their talks will be free and open to everyone 鈥 even those who are not signed up for the symposium. If you do wish to sign up for the June 20-21 symposium, take note: The symposium is about two-thirds sold out!
The keynote speakers:
- Bob Kalka, vice president of IBM鈥檚 Security Business Unit, discussing 鈥淗ow Cognitive Computing Is 鈥 and Will 鈥 Impact Cybersecurity.鈥 10:30-11:10 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.
- Malcolm Harkins, chief security and trust officer at Cylance (and formerly of Intel), addressing 鈥淭he Promises and Perils of Emerging Technologies for Cybersecurity.鈥 10:20-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, Jackson Hall. (Harkins holds an MBA from 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis.)
The will deliver two days of labs, talks and workshops on cybersecurity in higher education. The every-other-year event attracts security, technical and information professionals and administrative managers from throughout the University of California, plus guests from higher education.

鈥楬ealth Insurance After You Retire鈥
With the most popular retirement date approaching (July 1), the will present a pair of Health Insurance After You Retire workshops. Employees considering retirement, particularly those within one year of retirement, are encouraged to learn more about the health coverage offered to 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 retirees.
Guerren Solbach said he will review health plan eligibility rules and costs; discuss medical plans for retirees who relocate out of state, or to more remote parts of California; and explain how 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 retiree health plans coordinate with Medicare.
