新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis鈥 Marc Schenker is due to participate next week in the unveiling of policy recommendations to improve the health of California farmworkers and their families.
新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Center Sacramento is hosting the public program, sponsored by the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Global Health Initiative with support from the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis Migration and Health Research Center, the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety (based at 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis), the California Program on Access to Care, and the Health Initiative of the Americas.
Schenker, a distinguished professor of public health sciences and medicine, is co-director of the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Global Health Initiative鈥檚 Center of Expertise on Migration and Health. He also serves as vice provost for outreach and engagement.
鈥淎 variety of social, economic and political factors have converged to create a uniquely opportune moment to take action and improve the health of farmworkers and their families,鈥 he said.
Policy recommendations will involve health care funding and insurance, occupational safety, labor law enforcement and improving farmworker living conditions.
The briefing is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.
