People looking for additional international flavor will have a new option in , scheduled to open for fall quarter in the Tercero residential area. The 30,000-square-foot eatery, with seating for 500, will specialize in international dishes not available elsewhere on campus. Latitude will include a retail store with meals-to-go.

To celebrate the reopening, , including a $6.99 lunchtime “We’re Back” value combo, which includes one of six entrees like a Harris Ranch cheeseburger, crispy chicken sandwich, or mushroom and swiss melt, along with a side dish and fountain drink.

Other menu additions include a Korean-fried chicken sandwich, a pastrami burger, and a double barbecue burger topped with crispy onions and BBQ sauce.

Scrubs has also added a hot entrée bar — like the salad bar — allowing customers to build their own meals, priced by the ounce. In addition, the coffee bar will now offer an expanded food menu, Café All Day.

The steam leak went unnoticed for 15 hours during a regular weekend closure, Feb. 23-24, and resulted in standing water in the café. Facilities Management staff and an outside hygienist monitored moisture levels and watched for other damage as the restaurant dried out.

Officials said most of the repairs were cosmetic in nature, such as patching holes that inspectors required to see what was going on inside the walls, replacing ceiling tiles and repainting.

Food trucks have been providing food and coffee service during the repairs. Scrubs provides the only food service in that part of the campus.
