аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis Mourns the Loss of Hissah Almousa, Victim of Solano Park Fire

It is with deep sadness that we share that Hissah Almousa died after she was seriously injured in an apartment fire at Solano Park apartment complex on May 8. Hissah was married to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ Davis graduate student Mohamed Alkaoud. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Mohamed and his extended family and friends. We grieve with you.

We ask that the community respect Mohamed’s privacy during this difficult time.

We await the report from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, which is conducting an independent investigation into the cause of the fire at Solano Park. We will share the results once the investigation has been completed. Meanwhile, the building impacted has been thoroughly inspected and received state fire marshal approval for occupancy.
