Too busy during the quarter to tour the ? Now is a good time to visit, especially if you want to catch two exhibitions that are closing by year鈥檚 end. Admission is free and open to the public.
These exhibitions are closing this month:
MORE WINTER BREAK
- Landscape Without Boundaries 鈥 Significant works by such artists as Robert Arneson, Joan Brown, Bruce Conner, Gladys Nilsson, Martin Ramirez, Wayne Thiebaud and William T. Wiley show how painting, sculpture and drawing addressed and reflected the Northern California landscape in the years after World War II. Through Sunday, Dec. 15.
- ColorForm 鈥 Sculptures and drawings by Kathy Butterly, who received a Master of Fine Arts degree at 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis in 1990. This is her first retrospective exhibition. Through Sunday, Dec. 29.
The museum 鈥 where you can also see the NEW ERA installation this month 鈥 will be open most days through New Year鈥檚, with the exception of the official university holidays, Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1, and will follow regular hours: noon-6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; noon-9 p.m. Thursday; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
But, after ColorForm closes Dec. 29, and after the museum鈥檚 regular Monday closure, Dec. 30, and the holiday closures, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, the museum will not reopen until the winter season celebration, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 (after being closed from Jan. 2 to 25 for installation).

- 鈥淪tephen Kaltenbach: The Beginning and The End鈥 鈥 This exhibition by the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis alumnus (Bachelor of Arts, 1966, and Master of Arts, 1967) considers his engagement with time as a principal theme across his remarkably diverse career, which encompasses bronze time capsules, advertisements placed anonymously in Artforum magazine in 1968-69, and the monumental photorealist painting Portrait of My Father (1972-79). - 鈥Gesture: The Human Figure After Abstraction鈥 鈥 Selections from the Manetti Shrem Museum, by first-generation artists of the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 Davis art department. Their work in sculpture, painting and drawing shares a singular characteristic: a commitment to innovation and creative freedom that informed the ever-expanding notion of modern art. Through January 2021.
The NEW ERA installation, which opened in September, will carry over into the winter and spring seasons, closing June 14. Set within a hexagonal pavilion built into the gallery space, NEW ERA features three projectors set opposite three mirrored walls, putting viewers in the middle of a poetic and visual narrative about humanity鈥檚 history and future.

Closures and reduced hours will begin Saturday, Dec. 14, at Shields Library and the Carlson Health Sciences Library, and Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Blaisdell Medical Library.
